Palio di Siena, with roots that date back to the 13th century, is one of the longest running horse races in the world. In 2014 Greg Funnell was granted behind the scenes access to document the jockeys, the fans and an event steeped in hundreds of years of Italian history. We took bold minimal approach; the carefully selected uncoated paper and oversized format display the images in the best possible way.
